How to turn off the WhatsApp Business AI assistant

The WhatsApp Business AI assistant is a Meta feature inside the app.
It suggests replies and helps you set up your catalog and profile.
It is not the same as an AI service you hire, and turning one off does not turn off the other.
Before you turn it off, know what it is
- It is a feature of the WhatsApp Business app, provided by Meta.
- It suggests replies, helps you write descriptions and organizes your business details.
- It does not see your calendar, cannot book appointments and only knows the prices you entered there.
- There is no team running it behind the scenes.
Where to find it
It lives in the WhatsApp Business settings, under business tools, in what Meta calls the AI assistant.
The name and location change between app versions, and between Android and iPhone.
Can’t find it?
The quickest route is the Meta help center, which shows the current screen.
Check again after every update, because the feature often comes back switched on.
What changes when you turn it off
- Automatic suggestions stop showing up when you reply.
- Nothing changes in the service you hired, if it runs on the official API through another system.
- Your number keeps working as usual.
Turning off Meta’s feature does not give you a service
Without it, WhatsApp Business is just an app again.
Useful, but nobody answers for you after hours.
If your problem is messages left unanswered at night and empty slots in your calendar, what fixes it is an AI service on your business number.
