Assistant that sends the product photo on WhatsApp
Published on October 07, 2026
When customers ask about a product, they want to see it.
At car dealerships, real estate agencies and retail shops, the chat stalls when the answer is text only.
The customer asks for a photo, waits for someone to send it and sometimes has already contacted someone else by the time it arrives.
The assistant sends the image right away, taken from what your business already has on file.
Where the photo comes from
Photos come from a folder your business keeps, not from stock images and never made up.
Each item has its own record, with the image file and whatever you want sent with it: model, year, color, mileage, price and what is included.
The image goes out as a media message, a type supported by the WhatsApp Cloud API.
We organize that folder with you, as part of the interview.
The usual pattern is one item per folder, or an image file whose name says what it is, like brand, model and year, with the record next to it holding the rest.
With a clear pattern, the assistant finds the right item from the customer’s question.
When someone adds a new item to the folder, it joins the catalog with nothing else to change.
What the customer gets
The reply comes with the image and the useful details from the record: price, what is included and whether the item is available.
A broad question, like “what hatchbacks do you have?”, gets a list of what you have, with an image of each.
A specific one, like “do you still have the silver Onix?”, gets that item and its photo.
If the customer asks for more than one image of the same item, the assistant sends what is in that item’s folder, in the order you set.
What it won’t do with images
- It won’t make up photos, edit vehicle images or create artwork from scratch. What goes out is the file in the folder.
- It won’t estimate prices, guess mileage or fill in half-empty records. Empty fields stay out of the reply.
- It won’t promise availability without checking what is on file.
- It won’t send photos of items that left the catalog. Once removed from the folder, an item no longer shows up.
What you need to keep up
The daily work is small, but it is yours: remove sold items from the folder, add new ones and keep prices and photos current.
An outdated catalog leads to wrong answers, just like outdated content.
Agree on two things during setup:
- Who updates the folder, and how often.
- What the assistant says when an item isn’t in the catalog: hand over to a person, or say it will check.
How it fits with everything else
The same chat that gets the photo also books the visit, keeps the record and reminds the customer later.
At a real estate agency, the property photo comes with open slots for a viewing.
At a dealership, it comes with a time to see the car and a reminder on the day.
Voice notes work the same way: customers can talk instead of typing, and the written reply still comes with the image.
